Not the same as Fanning!,
I wish I had spent the fifty bucks on Reef Fanning – so comfortable – the An Gel is very uncomfortable and they seem to run small – they have a sleeker look – that is why I ordered them – they look more dressed up – but not comfy like the Reef fanning. Never again.

I live in Florida and live in my reefs and I’d rate these overall great! I have had many pairs over the years and unfortunately it seems they have done away with the comfortable materials that made such a squishy soft foot-bed. In the last few years they have started adding ridiculous things like beer bottle openers on the bottom which collects up junk and makes the soles hard. I always bought reefs because of the soft soles and as they move away from what makes them “Reefs” I had almost all but given up on finding a pair to live in. These however DO have some comfort factor and are well fitting and I love that the sole is dark (so it doesn’t look so dirty as all white ones) and the top is white (which goes with everything). It’s made out of a waterproof material so it’s beach worthy as well or gardening with them is OK as well. The ONE downside to these is the toe piece is a LITTLE wider or something than most or something about it irritated my feet at first. Not horribly, but if I wear them for the whole day at the skin between my toes is a little red and irritated. They may break in and this will disappear. They have great support and overall – I’m happy with them and wearing them every warm day there is. A good choice for reef lovers. PS – No….they STILL aren’t as soft and squishy as the originally “Slaps” or “Fanning”.

I have a hard time finding flip flops that are comfortable and don’t make my knees ache, but these are awesome! The gel makes the difference.
